1. General Questions

What is Autônomo?

Autônomo is Angola's leading digital platform for freelance work and recruitment. We connect skilled professionals (Autónomos) with businesses or individuals (Clients) seeking project-based services.

Who can use the platform?

Anyone over 18 with a valid ID. This includes individual autónomos, registered "Conta Própria" workers, and small-to-large companies (LDA, SA).

2. For Job Seekers & Autónomos

How do I get paid?

Payments are handled via our secure Escrow System. Once a Client accepts your bid and deposits the funds, the money is held by Autônomo. When you finish the work and the Client approves it, the funds are released to your Autônomo Wallet, which you can withdraw to your Angolan bank account via IBAN.

What is the "Bid System"?

When a project is posted, you submit a "Bid." This is your proposal detailing how much you will charge and how long it will take. You can use Bid Credits to apply for projects.

Are there fees for autónomos?

It is free to join. Autônomo charges a small percentage fee (Service Commission) only on successfully completed and paid projects.

3. For Recruiters & Clients

How do I know I can trust an Autónomo?

We implement a robust KYC (Know Your Customer) process. Look for the "Verified" badge on profiles. You can also review their portfolio, past ratings, and completion rates from other Angolan clients.

What if I'm not happy with the work delivered?

Do not release the funds from Escrow. You can request revisions through the platform. If the autónomo fails to meet the project brief, you can open a Dispute, and our arbitration team will step in to review the work and facilitate a refund if necessary.

How do I pay for a project?

We support local Angolan payment methods, including Multicaixa Express, Bank Transfer (IBAN), and major Credit Cards.

4. Payments & Security

Is my data safe?

Yes. Autônomo is operated by Bakonsul LDA and complies with the Angolan Data Protection Law (Law 22/11). We use high-level encryption for all personal and financial data.

What is AML compliance?

AML stands for Anti-Money Laundering. As a regulated platform in Angola, we monitor transactions to prevent illegal financial activities. This is why we require ID verification for withdrawals - to keep the marketplace safe for everyone.

Why is my NIF required?

To comply with AGT (Administração Geral Tributária) regulations, we require your NIF for tax invoicing and to ensure all professional activity on the platform is legal and transparent.

5. Troubleshooting & Support

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login screen. You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) or a reset link via your registered email or phone number.

How long do withdrawals take?

Once you request a withdrawal, our finance team typically processes it within 24 to 48 hours (business days), depending on your bank's processing time.
